MC Championship - Server update – Maintenance details

The update is now fully complete. Thank you all again for your patience and understanding whilst we ironed out some unforeseen bugs!

The server is now back online, with a slightly reduced player count whilst we make sure everything is working correctly!

We've now resolved the main issues that were blocking the update from being launched. Unfortunately, we still have some issues with our Private Lobby system so we are going to launch without Plobbies enabled to begin with, but we hope to get it online as soon as we can.

However, the good news is that we are going to be launching our new updating and bringing the network back at (or shortly after) 4PM BST! We will have a reduced player count to start with, whilst we are ensuring that our update is working correctly, but we hope to have it back to normal quickly (as long as everything is working okay).

Good morning everyone! Just a brief update to let you all know that we're still hard at work to finish the roll out of this update. We have one remaining issue that we are currently trying to fix, and we will keep you all updated here with more information as soon as we have it. Thank you all again for your patience <3

We're making the decision to delay the launch of the Season 2 patch until tomorrow (Sept 15th).

With this patch, we're migrating A LOT of player data, and we simply need more time to ensure that nothing goes wrong, and we'd also like to ensure that none of you end up wasting any more time waiting around tonight. 😉

Because of this, the server will be in maintenance mode until the patch's release, so we'll see you all again tomorrow, all afresh for the new and exciting changes. ❤️

We'll keep you all updated here at how it's going tomorrow, and also make sure you've joined our Discord so you can be notified when we go live!

Thank you all for your patience whilst we work on rolling out this update. For some context, this is the biggest update we've ever rolled out to Island, including some giant database migrations and large backend changes (which is what is taking a very long time at the moment). Thank you all for your patience and excitement whilst we work this through!

Unfortunately we need a bit more downtime for this, although we're beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Sadly it's just a very long tunnel…

We've identified the root cause of the issue that was making the update take so long and are currently working hard on a fix! We've got the ball rolling on this update again (albeit very slowly) and will keep everyone posted with how it's going. It may take longer than the current ETA of 6pm BST, but we will update this status page if we need a bit more downtime.

We've run into some unexpected issues whilst rolling out this update that means everything is taking a lot longer than expected. We've bumped the downtime period to 2h30m whilst we're working hard to resolve these issues! Sorry for the extended downtime but we're looking forward to seeing you all on our sunny shores soon <3
